You may be wondering what a percussionist who performed around the world—largely in the area of classical music and who taught percussion instruments at three major music schools—is doing adding a lane and becoming a Next Step Strategist… and helping people grow and transform through significant change in their lives?
I have loved rhythm since long before I could spell it! I took up drumming at age 10, and reveled in making unusual items—including cymbals, triangles, ratchets, drums, and marimbas—sound beautiful. My long, thoroughly enjoyable career doing just that, plus teaching hundreds of students around the world to perform similar feats of percussive magic, were only the beginning in preparation for what I do today.
There is a key to transforming these instruments from the trivial, mundane, and humorous to sounding beautiful and musically inspired. The musician must be in relationship with, and connected to, the instrument. Each percussion instrument is obviously or subtly different and requires unique attention and connection.
Just like people! There are no two connections, and no two relationships which are the same. I love helping my clients find those that set them on fire and into action.
